WILLIE KNOWS WHO DONE IT
Reports From The Byways of Maine
In this book, Hans has gathered together a small collection of stories, many of them tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at himself and his neighbors. In later chapters, he shares more serious material, some tributes to the folks out back, even some story-poems, as he likes to call them, written from the vantage point of a little hideaway he’s built for himself, looking out over the rivers and valleys of Maine – and the people with their never-ending stories.
This collection, We Have Met the Enemy, is the result of daily musings and reflections during the days of the pandemic in a small town in Maine. The book contains daily journal writings from the middle of March 2020 until the end of the year. It is a collection of brief observations, impressions, experiences, even rantings and ravings, dealing with aspects of the pandemic as gleaned from news reports and daily life. The various mutations of COVID-19, along with other pestilential (not to mention political) plagues, are woven together throughout the collection.
